Satellites Programme

Satellites is Collective’s development programme for emerging artists and producers based in Scotland. Five practitioners are chosen each year to work with Collective on a new public commission and participate in a programme of retreats, studio visits, discussions and events with their peers. The open call for Satellites takes place in spring each year and is selected by a panel of artists, writers and curators. You can watch a short film about the programme here

2018 participants are: Helen McCrorie, Emmie McLuskey, Kimberley O’Neill and Katie Shannon.

Traineeships & Volunteering

Trainees and volunteers are core to the achievements and ambition of Collective, having supported artists projects, initiated and organised events and contributed to the wider development of the organisation. Their enthusiasm, creative and practical support make Collective what it is today. We are committed to providing meaningful, paid work experience for young people and in 2018 are working with a Creative Trainee as part of Scotland's Year of Young People. For further information please contact us.

Summer School & Intensive Programmes

Every year Collective invites artists, thinkers, writers and practitioners from various disciplines to deliver a multi-day programme of talks, walks, workshops, film screenings and activities around a central theme.

Collective’s annual school builds a temporary space in Edinburgh for critical dialogue, practical experiments and learning that is open to anyone interested in the production of contemporary art.

Unfortunately, we are unable to review unsolicited proposals. Please check if you are eligible for our Satellites Programme, which is recruited annually by open application in the spring.
